Diving excursions

Diving is good year-round in the Capes, but the best months are March-August. Visibility is good usually up to 100 feet and the water temperature ranges between 75-80 degrees Fahrenheit during this time.

There is much to be explored and discovered. New dive sites are constantly being made available to adventurous divers. Cabo Pulmo is considered to be the most unique marine phenomena in the Sea of Cortez. It is an experience not to be missed!

Gordo Banks rivals Cabo Pulmo and San Lucas Bay submarine canyon, and is considered among the prime dive-sites in the area.

Cabo Pulmo

This is the only living coral reef on the western side of North America and it is rich in a wide variety of tropical marine life that begins in shallow water a few feet from shore. A large system of volcanic reefs offers exciting dives for beginners to advanced and a is a real treat for snorkelers. Visitors to Cabo Pulmo are treated to a grand vista of unspoiled sandy beaches as well as the great beauty that lies under water.

This marine sanctuary is less than 2 hours from Cabo San Lucas by car and is a great day trip.

Gordo Banks

Gordo Banks is eight miles off the coast of San Jose del Cabo. The top of this seamount lies 110' to 130' deep. You will see plenty of action from the first few feet of water. There are whirlpools of jacks, scores of schooling hammerhead sharks, solitary bull sharks, manta rays, and even huge whale sharks are encountered by fortunate divers.

Due to the depth and erratic currents that sometimes occur, this is for advanced divers only.
