A beloved fixture in San Jose del Cabo, Los Cabos, Mexico since 1983, Damiana Restaurant occupies a mid 18th century hacienda with two air-conditioned intimate dining salons and an outdoor rear patio dominated by an enormous, century old bougainvillea. At night the tree is lighted and becomes one of the most romantic courtyards in Los Cabos. From November to May reservations are a must, as devoted clientele all have favorite tables on the forty-seat patio.
This colorful and romantic restaurant-bar with 1700s hacienda houses, which serves Mexican and international cuisine with an emphasis on seafood. Dishes such as charcoal-broiled lobster, seasonal abalone and seared tuna are excellent, but what really makes this place stand out is the verdant courtyard patio and the complimentary shot of damiana liqueur (damiana is a local herb that is supposedly an aphrodisiac). Open daily for lunch and dinner.
